Starships of the Quar'To and the Morthrax
These are fan-designs for a scenario based on the alien species depicted in the TV series "War of the Worlds" in 1988.
The Morthrax are in the show are supposed to be the "Martians" from the 1953 movie. They are from planet Mor-Tax in the first season but called the Morthren from Morthrai in the second season.
My scenario is: These are actually a host race (the three-armed, cyclopian, bipedal but with the internal structure of a jellyfish Morthrax) who were taken over by a mind-controlling parasite who infiltrate larger organisms at a cellular level. They later used Mars as a staging base for an attack on Earth to infect humans the same way.
Their ships are the same basic shape as the 1953 fighting machines (flattened craft with wings) armed with energy or plasma weapons that incinerate targets.
The Quar'To are mentioned once in the 1988 series. They are an "ally" of the main cast but really are just enemies of the infection because it endangers their need to use humanity as a food source.
In my scenario the Quar'To are carnivores that preferentially eat sapient life as a show of dominance, and harvest periodically during reproduction seasons from neighboring worlds’ populations. They have done so for the past 50,000 years. The Quar’To hate parasite infection of their food sources as they are poisoned by the parasites. Few in number except during reproduction seasons, their offspring endure high mortality of caterpillar-like larva which cannibalize each other if there is not enough prey to consume. The Quar’To use “synthetic” (artificial) enforcer creatures including the armored “rumpus cat” robots and occasional infiltration units shaped like their prey species.
They build these blue, 1200 m long ships that carry automated fighter "synthetics"/drones and landing craft.
The ships have electric pulse weapons.
